Divest UP

Co-founded the campaign to have the University of Portland pull its investments outs of fossil fuel companies and invest in greener technology instead. We organized an online petition, did canvass outreach on the university campus as well as in the surrounding North Portland neighborhood. We also reached out to the media to publicize the campaign and hosted a free movie screening of the movie "This Changes Everything" based on the book by Naomi Klein, dealing with divestment issues. In addition to the movie screening, there was a question and answer panel with myself, Dr. William Barnes (Environmental Economist), and Dr. Kevin Jones (Social Worker) to discuss possible solutions to our global predicament as well as the local issues with the University of Portland's investment in fossil fuel.
